little sketch on a napkin on the ride home from Ottawa.
I had an amazing time. I got to watch tons of great cartoons, and a lot of not so great ones. Found out about Konstantin Bronzit, a great russian animator who's been doing amazing work for the past 20 years or so. I met Jerry Beck, the animation historian, Amid Amidi, of Animation Blast and CartoonBrew. I got to shake hands and discuss art with Bruno Bozetto, one of the modern masters of animation. And finally, i got to meet and talk with John K, Ren & Stimpy creator and all around cool guy. Learned a lot and got a newfound respect for Clampett, Bronzit, Bozetto, Brazillian Animation and Flash.
Here's a sketch of Mr. Horse i got From John K.

more anatomical studies.
today i decided to try and use my brush pen during the studies. I like the result, cept i think it forces me to concentrate on the outside of the form, rather than the structure of the form. would be nice to "ink" a finished sketch using it to add depth and lineweight.

I realized today that I'm taking a bunch of anatomy courses/workshops.
Every other monday, my Character Design class has Figure Drawing.
On Wednesdays and Thursdays, one of my teachers hosts an hour long Figure Drawing workshop.
On Fridays I have a 6 hour Anatomy Elective class.
So, hopefully, I will get better at anatomy by the end of this semester.
